Have you received an invitation?

You cannot book the apartment yourself, but must be invited. You place a deposit and pay costs for cleaning etc. but in addition, the payment consists of giving an agreed amount for charitable purposes.

How it works

In the end, you will pay market price for the apartment (a part of which, however, is tax-free) and, in addition, it will give money to charity. We make no profit from it.

You pay the deposit, cleaning and other direct expenses. The rest of your payment is for charitable purposes. See calculation below:

Example

DKK 1,200 per night (market price right now)
DKK 400 for cleaning
DKK 600 for a local helper (2 hours)
Electricity (a/c): DKK 600 per week

Total price for 5 nights: DKK 7,000 (938 EUR or 1036 USD)

This is how you pay

  • Transfer DKK 3000 for costs
    • DKK 1,000 for known costs
    • DKK 2,000 in deposit for unforeseen costs

After your visit is over and  unforeseen costs are deducted, you pay the remainder (DKK 4,000 in this example) to a charitable organization and show us the receipt.

We make a specific calculation for your stay. The numbers above are only examples.

Your payment to the charitable organization can normally be deducted from tax and it therefore ends up costing you less than the above.

Unexpected costs can, for example, be if our local helper has to come and help turn on the hot water, then we have to pay him an hour including transport on your behalf.

This also applies even if it may have been the previous person who turned off the heat and it was not your fault.

Since we have no income from renting out the apartment, any additional costs accrue to you and will be taken from the deposit.
